Math Jazz — Mathias Bynens’s shizzle, y’all

Note: This site might seem inactive… That’s because it is. Don’t worry though, I’m still coding webpages and stuff! If you’re interested, I suggest you get a translator and head over to Qiwi; or you could just check the latest site we’ve been working on: Optiek Ockerman Dendermonde. Enjoy! Also be sure to check out MacKeys, a tool to convert MacBook keyboard keys to their single-Unicode-character equivalents. It comes with a QWERTY MacBook keyboard in CSS3, so it’s officially cool.

SPAM

I love it. Don’t you?

No really, I’ve been playing around with Markku’s preview release of SPAM (formerly known as iPAP). I’m seeking to use it as a replacement for the crappy Coppermine Photo Gallery I’m currently using. Here are my initial thoughts. Please note that these are not at all intended as criticism.

Mathias, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

    Some answers:

    • The file storage class has been a dilemma for quite some time, I’m considering going with an abstraction layer (like ezSQL) to use MySQL, and prepare for PHP5’s SQLITE. Maybe. :)
    • There is a way to allow embedded PHP, but I use the gallery for very simple uses for now. I think this is fairly do-able.
    • Incomplete delete? Hmm, gotta check that. ;)
    • Time difference? Next release. :)
    • Batch upload? Soon. ;)

    Again, thanks!

Uhmm, I think the unordered list in my previous comment is causing some display magic, just edit it. :)

    • That abstraction layer thingy sounds good. I’d love such a thing.
    • Agreed, although it might be nice to allow PHP embedding in the future…
    • Hmm, yeah; unless I’m very much mistaken. Please check it.
    • Great! :)
    • Great! :)

Don’t worry about the display magic problem, the new design will be officially launched soon, and it won’t have a problem with unordened lists in comments ;)

Hey, I just realized there was always a server time offset variable! It’s $server_time_offset in the ipap-config.php file. :) It’s actually the same offset you use in wordpress.
