Note: This site might seem inactive… That’s because it is. Don’t worry though, I’m still coding webpages and stuff! If you’re interested, I suggest you get a translator and head over to Qiwi; or you could just check the latest site we’ve been working on: AD Delhaize Lebbeke. Enjoy!
Spring Redesigns: A List Apart
From now on, also known as Well-Redesigned Weblogs Volume 1.
I made a chronologic (well, pretty much) list of websites that a) I regularly visit AND b) have redesigned in the past spring. I might have missed out on some (I welcome suggestions in the comments), but I think I got the most “important” ones.
And yes, I included myself in that list. How dare I shamelessly promote myself?
Matthew Hadley
Note: How could I ever forget you?
Anne van Kesteren
Note: Anne redesigned twice this spring, but I only caught one post about a redesign (the first one)… Hence the image and the link shouldn’t be associated with each other too much ;-)
Ben de Groot
Note: This is a Dutch blog about web design. This design is named “GroenRechts”, although I don’t think that has got anything to do with Belgian politics.
Mathias Bynens
The W3C Markup Validation Service
L. Jeffrey Zeldman
Nick Momrik
Note: Indeed, three styles. They’re more like colour schemes actually, but still: wow. I screenshotted my personal favourite, which is BluePrint. Don’t forget to check the other styles as well: GanGreen and Rustic.
Shave Dea, er… Dave Shea
Note: This new design was launched on my birthday. And what’s even cooler is that you can still choose to view the site in the previous design (Radar).
Lars Holst
Douglas Bowman
Note: Twice.
Markku Seguerra
Note: Not a complete makeover, although the site changed a lot since the beginning of this year.
Pitta Baainens©
Note: Do you still recognize Ian’s Human Condition?
Matthew Mullenweg
Note: As Matt says by himself: this is not a complete redesign. Also note that this is the only Summer redesign in this post — Matt loves to break conventions.

I like the Pitta Baainens thing :rainbow:
“I only catched one post”
As I don’t think you were trying to be humorous, did you mean caught or cached?
 caught  *ashamed* Pardon me please, but it’ll be tomorrow in thirty minutes
Hehe. I just thought I’d check. Anyway, you made the post at about quarter to 11… That’s kinda early if you ask me. ;) Of course, I rarely am finished with the day before 2am.
Mathias, thank you so much for including my site. But can you just write my name as “Markku Seguerra”, okay? :) I think having it complete is too long.
Looks like you did a lot of research to list most of the new redesigns. Nice work!
One last note, my cookies aren’t saved here on your site, I need to input my info every time I post a comment. Too much WP hacking? :)
Wow, loving that rebelpixel.com. Off to check it out, love the colors…
that Anne van Kesteren design is quality :P
Hey, where’s my site? ;) [link]
Your site is not worth being @ mathibus.com
Just kidding
Matthew “Dude, Where’s My Site?” Hadley: You’re right, I forgot about your site :para: I’m getting old. Nah really, I just don’t think I really knew your site before the redesign (unless you’re talking about your “mini-redesign”)… Anyway, I added you now—and wow, you even turn out to be this spring’s first redesigner! How cool is that? :)
markku: I’m sorry, but I just love these long names. Just as “L. Jeffrey Zeldman” sounds better than “Jeffrey Zeldman”, “Vincent Markku Seguerra” sounds even cooler than “Markku Seguerra”. But that’s just my opinion. :) I’ll “change your name” to your preferation.
As for the cookie thing: I am not experiencing this problem. :???: Anyone else?
Hm, cookies seem to be good here.
skinnyj.com almost did a redesign or two…
Owen: That might be true, but I don’t know that site — I’ve never even seen it before. I noticed it offers some kind of redesign list, though.
Indeed, GroenRechts doesn’t have anything to do with Belgian politics. But my right-aligned and green design did at some moment make me think of the party I vote for in the Netherlands: GroenLinks (= green left for non-dutchies)…
I feel honored to be in such great company! :spin:
Yay, I made the list.
*retires*
I didn’t make the list
Now is the moment to include Dunstan’s blog. His re-design is quite nice. What am I saying? It’s great!
Hey I like Pitta’s redesign even if he still insists on putting everything on one long page. :ta:
That’s me :spin::ta::rainbow:
